Publication Award for Research on CEO Communication

Dr. Javad Rajabalizadeh, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Accounting and Finance, Turku School of Economics, has received the Publication Award of the Turku School of Economics Association for his article “Personality and Perception: Assessing the Role of CEO Narcissism in Risk Disclosure Practices in an Emerging Market.”

The article has been published in the Journal of Language and Social Psychology (JUFO 3), one of the leading peer reviewed journals in the field of language, communication, and social psychology.

The study examines how narcissistic traits of chief executive officers influence corporate risk disclosure practices. The findings show that CEOs with stronger narcissistic traits tend to provide more extensive risk disclosures, supporting theoretical perspectives related to self presentation and visibility. The study also highlights the role of board composition and regulatory changes in shaping this relationship.

This research contributes to the growing literature on executive characteristics and corporate communication, particularly in the context of emerging markets.
