Henry Jarva Appointed University Lecturer in Accounting at Turku School of Economics
Dr. Henry Jarva has started as a University Lecturer in Accounting at the Turku School of Economics at the beginning of 2026. An accomplished researcher and educator, Jarva joins the faculty from Hanken School of Economics, bringing extensive expertise in financial reporting quality, corporate governance, and investment decision-making.
Henry Jarva joined Turku School of Economics as University Lecturer in accounting in early 2026. His research focuses on corporate financial reporting, earnings quality and reliability, and the use of accounting information in areas such as auditing, corporate governance and investment decisions. He has published widely in international journals, including Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, European Accounting Review, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Journal of Applied Accounting Research, Accounting & Finance, and European Sport Management Quarterly.
Before moving to the University of Turku, he worked as Assistant Professor at Hanken School of Economics and earlier at Aalto University School of Business. He received his D.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Oulu in 2010 and was awarded the title of Docent in Accounting by the University of Oulu in 2024. He has extensive teaching and supervision experience, including the supervision of more than 200 Master’s theses.
